The City of Norwich Triathlon Club was started in January 2008 and is focused on youth athlete development. We provide training and competition opportunities for young athletes to develop to the best of their abilities and to enable them to compete in triathlon, aquathlon and cycling events. With it’s focus on junior development the club is managed by an enthusiastic committee made up of parents of its junior members.
Coaching: The club provides an extensive coaching programme and is fortunate to be supported by a number of coaches with a wide range of experience and knowledge at all levels. The club provides regular weekly coaching sessions in swimming and running plus cycling sessions at Lotus Cars Cycle League in the summer (May to July). Also in the summer the coaching team run open water swim coaching sessions for juniors.
In 2012 the club will be hosting the first Eastern Region Children’s Triathlon Relay Championships in Norwich on the 23rd June, as well as the regions first open water aquathlon for children on the 22nd July, giving youngsters from around the region the opportunity for their first open water race experience.
It’s not all serious training though and the club recognises that at times children want to have fun being active and that multi sport is a great way to achieve this. The club holds a number of social events each year including an awards evening in January as well as a summer barbecue. A big thank you to all who turned up for the AGM, all went well and the fish n chips was pucker, pictured below are the trophy winners and the band who entertained us all on the night a big well done to them all.. more photos from the night are in the photo gallery. |
